Chimney Cake—Traditional Hungarian Transylvanian Pastry
10-50 Jackson Ave, 718-786.1818A unique pastry, fresh out from the oven all day long, every day! Chimney cake (in Hungarian "Kürtőskalács") is a traditional wedding pastry made by Hungarians in Transylvania for hundreds of years. Grandmothers wake up at the crack of dawn to knead the fresh yeast dough and fire up the brick oven at the back of the house. By the time the wood is smoldering, the dough is ready to be wrapped around a wooden cylinder, rolled into sugar and slowly baked at the fire." LIC's Chimney Cake wakes up at the crack of dawn to make it for you.
